(Sant Boi de Llobregat, 6 of June of 2007). Ibermática, one of the main companies of services of information technologies on the Spanish market, has implanted its solution RPS in Promerca, Catalan company dedicated to the packaging of sugar and other activities related with the coffee world.

The decision of Promerca to entirely renovate its management’s software, came motivated by its interest in modernizing the management of its processes. Promerca, familial company with more than 40 years of successful trajectory, is dedicated to the packaging of sugar and other activities related to the coffee world, such as the packaging of coffee pods, the manufacture of tinplate cans for coffee beans until complements like chocolate bars, infusions,  porcelain cups and saucers sets. From these activities it obtains an invoicing of about 8 million euros, part of it coming from the export activity, mainly to France, Italy and Portugal. The objective of the company is the commitment to the food security, the quality and the innovation for the products, based on the highest technology in the field of packaging.

With the incorporation of solution RPS, the company expects a series of functionalities and advantages such as stock controls, costs controls, variable costing or production planning. Finally that means to reorganize the working habits and the information to handle, to be able to offer a better customer service.

Concerning the decision to choose the RPS of Ibermática, Joaquim Tomás, industrial director of  Promerca, affirms that “we not only looked for an ERP, but also for a group of people collaborating with the implantation. We wanted knowledge at two levels: of the product and of the company world, because after previous experiences, we verified that both requirements were vital for a successful implantation in our company.”

With the incorporation of RPS and the work of the Ibermática team for the project and the proper company, Promerca makes sure the complete modernization of  all its data-processing support, which will give an answer to its present and future necessities. “RPS perfectly covers the stock control by localization, as well as the production plannification based on the MRP. Moreover, it provides the company direction a fundamental tool to take decisions thanks to the costs control and the variable costing”, emphasizes Joaquim Tomás.
